No Kings nationwide day of protest

No Kings nationwide day of protest

Join NH&S Dems and Indivisible Lambertville/New Hope for the “No Kings” Card Stunt!

“NO KINGS” is a national day of action and mass mobilization—on Saturday, June 14—in response to the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration. It is also Flag Day.

Indivisible Lambertville/New Hope (ILNH), along with our partners in the Indivisible One New Jersey (IONJ) coalition, is taking action on this day of defiance to reject authoritarianism. In doing so, we are sending a message to President Trump: No Kings! The American flag belongs to all of us!

What we will do:

We will perform a “card stunt.” We will gather on a large field and hold cards that together create two field-sized images: one supporting our democracy, and the other reclaiming the American Flag. A drone will capture the event and we will share it on social media as a kickoff to No Kings Day.

We will use our democratic muscle to display a unified message of what we believe. The event will be powerful and full of joy!

Join this fun in the morning, then head to a larger rally if you wish. We might even caravan to another event!

We will also need lots of volunteers to help with logistics, ahead of time and on event day, for tasks like those listed below. If you can help, let us know in your sign up form!

  • Painting the 384 pieces of cardboard (192 cards for each message).

  • Laying out markers along a grid that will correspond to where people will stand.

  • Coordinating participants on event day (lining folks up, handing out cards)

Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.

— Representative John Lewis (1940-2020)
